Candy Lee, or Ling Nie in Chinese, is the Centre Manager of Yi Mandarin, Originally from Surabaya, Indonesia, Candy moved to Singapore to learn Mandarin and has made it her home. Having mastered Mandarin herself, she empathizes with the challenges learners face.

That’s why, at Yi Mandarin, she’s been instrumental in developing a teaching method tailored to help even complete beginners grasp Mandarin and appreciate Chinese culture.

During her own journey of learning Mandarin, she was put off by the enormous amount of grammar she had to go through with no connection whatsoever to everyday life. One of the key things she wants to do at Yi Mandarin, is to give adult Mandarin learners a way to learn the language that fits in with their everyday life and doesn’t unnecessarily complicate things.
